Remembrance Sunday 11th November 2018 - 100 Year Commemorative Event - There will be a change to the proceedings this year to mark the 100 year anniversary of the end of the First World War. Visitors and residents are welcome to attend the Hawley Church service at 10.30am with Fr. Glyn Williams. The church service is expected to conclude at approx.11.30am when the assembly will then make their way to the Hawley Memorial hall led by a lone Piper for the civic ceremony at approx.11.40am. Alternatively, for those not wanting to attend the church service and who want to attend the civic ceremony instead, they will need to leave enough time to be in place at the Hawley Memorial hall before the congregation departs the church at approx.11.30am in order to avoid the congestion. click here for a copy of the civic ceremony. At approx.12 noon, with thanks to the W.I. teas, coffees will be available afterwards in the Memorial hall.

Hampshire County Council PFI Street Lighting Scheme               
All lighting stock over fifteen years old in Hampshire will be replaced with white fluorescent light in
residential areas during the first five years, commencing April 2010, with the focus on the remaining
twenty years on maintaining and operating the lights to a high standard, monitored by
Hampshire County Council. Carbon emissions will be reduced through the introduction of remote
lighting management with a central control room having the ability to change lighting times and
levels and automatically detect faults.
