Hampshire County Council PFI Street Lighting Scheme               
All lighting stock over fifteen years old in Hampshire will be replaced with white fluorescent light in
residential areas during the first five years, commencing April 2010, with the focus on the remaining
twenty years on maintaining and operating the lights to a high standard, monitored by
Hampshire County Council. Carbon emissions will be reduced through the introduction of remote
lighting management with a central control room having the ability to change lighting times and
levels and automatically detect faults.
